BIO

Hiro is a Brazilian-Japanese tattooer, born in São Paulo and immigrated to Japan as child. Despite the serious social taboos and associations with tattooing in Japan at the time, Hiro found himself more and more engaged with the culture and began tattooing in 1998. This immersion led him to his encounter with his mentor, Christian Arae (Horiatsu), in 2002, as he continued to study in the capricious world of tattooing in Japan. His identity, understanding and experiences with both the East and the West gave him a unique perspective and appreciation for tattooing and the culture as a whole, which he expresses in his style of work. Now he is the resident artist and owner of Cömpany Tattoo in Toyohashi in Aichi Prefecture and Momoyama Tattoo Studio in Okinawa.
